Voice It 2018: We Decide With the Children
This year Single Step participated for the first time in the annual edition of Voice It 2018: We Decide With the Kids, in which we were part of discussions with students and teenagers on topics important and interesting for them. This year the main theme chosen by the kids of the Youth net “Megaphone” was sexual health education - what does it consist of, how does it look like in Bulgaria and what is necessary to change.
The students took part not only in the choice of a topic, but also in the entire organisation of the forum. They were participants and moderators in the panels, they were hosts and also presented themselves and their activities.
Voice It creates a meet-up space for key stakeholders connected with children problems and their rights: around one hundred students interested in the topics and the events formats, experts from different organisations working with kids and state institutions. The event aims at including those groups in a productive dialogue for the future of the policies, activities and practices, focused on kids and their rights.
We also presented Single Step overall activity, focusing especially on sexual health and our HIV/AIDS and STIs prevention initiatives.
