Sexual Health Program

Health is an integral part of the wellbeing of the LGBTI+ community and that is why Single Step Foundation operates its program „Sexual Health and HIV”. Its main goal is to support anyone who needs help or information related to sexual practices and HIV.

The group of the men who have sex with men (MSM), including gay men is the most affected by HIV group as evidenced by data in the past years.

The health program of Single Step started with counseling services on HIV prevention and treatment and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs). This was later scaled up with another major initiative – the first ever in Bulgaria HIV self-testing campaign in the country #endHIVbg.

As part of the counseling services within the Program we work with people at high risk of HIV infection as well as people living with HIV (PLWHIV) from around the country who seek emotional support and guidance on how to navigate the healthcare system in order to initiate antiretroviral treatment (ART).

In this section of the website you can find detailed information about HIV/AIDS and other STIs, where you can get tested for HIV and what to do if the result comes back positive. Here you can also read about the latest news around HIV treatment and prevention, as well as audio and visual materials dedicated to the topic.

In the future, our team will be expanding the scope of services that we offer so those can reach to as many people as possible in the country.
