Single Step Foundation's community space The Steps is pleased to welcome the screening of director Peter Valchev's new film "Good Night, Lily". . Join us on the 20th October at 7pm to dive together into the topic of aging and death and all the existential questions that excite us.

The screening of the last feature film with the legend of Bulgarian cinema - Violeta Gindeva, will be followed by a discussion with psychoanalyst Dr. Vesela Banova and director Petar Vulchev.

"This is the swan song of one of the most talented and beautiful actresses that Bulgarian cinema has ever had!" said film critic Professor Vera Naydenova about the film "Good Night, Lili". In 2021, the film was the Bulgarian Oscar submission in the short feature film category, after winning the grand prize at the IN THE PALACE festival and being given the opportunity to be considered for the FILM ACADEMY awards.

Dr. Vesela Banova has an extremely rich 30-year experience in childcare reforms in Bulgaria, which is summarized in her PhD thesis "Social Policies for Children at Risk", defended in 2012 at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. As her experience as a psychoanalyst and psychotherapist has progressed, it has become apparent to her that there have been developments in the field of child care and social policies, but almost nothing has happened in the field of elderly care. All of us are confronted with this question when we have to care for an elderly loved one. Then we are faced with the questions posed by Peter Vulchev's film 'Good Night, Lily'.

The event is part of the three-year project "Empowering young LGBTI people through access to services, motivation and focused policy change", which is implemented with financial support from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway under the EEA Financial Mechanism. The main objective of the project is to support and empower young LGBTI people and professionals working with them.
