Momchil Baev

Momchil has more than 8 years of experience in the field of health as a public health expert, activist and practitioner including HIV/AIDS. He has been devoted to research, patients' access and quality of care. Throughout his professional experience, he has focused on health advocacy initiatives related to policy changes, access to healthcare and treatment. For duration of five years, he was a Head of the healthcare department of one of the largest non-governmental organization coordinating number of long-term programs related to access, risk management and quality in health. As part of his work was the management and coordination of one of the components of the national HIV/AIDS prevention and control program – focusing on young people at risk. Recently he acted as a Program manager at the largest patients’ association in Bulgaria – the National Patients’ Organization.

Over the years, he had carried different responsibilities working in the field of HIV/AIDS including outreach work among most-at-risk young people, sexual and reproductive health training and education for young people age 14-25. He worked as an expert in preparation of the national HIV/AIDS prevention and control Program 2016 – 2020 of the Ministry of Health and a member of the expert group on the national guidelines for monitoring and treatment of HIV positive adults.
