We Are a Part of a "Team with a Dream"

"Team with a Dream" – the first of its kind event will took place on June 16, 2018 in "Vazrazhdane" park, Sofia under the auspices of Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova and also as a part of the initiatives for Sofia – European Capital of Sport 2018. The organizers were three well-known athletes in Bulgaria – the ultramarathon Krasse Georgiev, the two-time world champion in the parkour/ free-run Delyan "Dido" Dimitrov, and the Single Step founder and marathon and CrossFit athlete Ivan Dimov.

Together, they saw the need to create an initiative to raise charity funds and promote social causes through sport challenges and competitions, in a broad partnership with the municipality, the business community, the sports community and all citizens. Three athletes with a different profile joined together to contribute to three organizations that are beneficiaries of the event: “Children with Onco-hematological Diseases”, the Single Step Foundation, working to support LGBTI youth and their families, and the BEST Foundation, which organizes debates clubs and orthography in English in high schools throughout Bulgaria. The collected funds were divided equally between the three organizations.

"Team with a Dream" was held throughout the day on June 16, starting before sunrise. As it was announced Krasse ran 50 km and Ivan did 5000 push-ups.

In the afternoon, despite the pouring rain, the second Republican Tournament for parkour / free-run was launched for the TELUS International Europe Cup. The tournament winners were awarded at the closing ceremony of the event.

“We are dedicating the second national parkour / free-run tournament to the memory of my best friend Anthony “Shorty” Lyutov, who died of cancer last year. We do not forget ours and our family gets even bigger with the help of Krasse and Ivan,” said Delyan “Dido” Dimitrov.

Krasse Georgiev, in turn, said that “challenges are a way of life for me and I am extremely glad to find soulmates and friends. With this event, the three of us want to challenge everyone to be better together through sport.”

“I often hear “that’s the way things are here” as if this should have reconciled us with reality. Dido, Krasse and I are challenging ourselves constantly, not only in sports. This event will show that when we are not divided, we are much stronger,” added Ivan Dimov.
