Human LGBTI+ library for participants from 12 countries was held at The Steps

Last month, our psychologist Nelly Tsvetkova conducted a five-day training with 45 people from 12 different countries on how to support young people from the LGBT+ community. The training was supported by Erasmus+ and the Cultural Heritage Foundation.

Participants in the training took part in what was called a ‘Human LGBTI+ Library’ at The Steps, where they had the opportunity to ‘turn the pages’ on 10 LGBT+ young people, learn more about their stories and ask all the questions they had about life as a queer person and what support they needed. “The ‘books’ were a variety of people connected to the work of the Single Step Foundation – volunteers, people from the Foundation and The Steps team, participants in the mutual support group and people who benefit from one-to-one psychological counselling.
