As part of GenerationArt we would like to introduce the author Gabriella Red - writer and poet. We asked Gabriela a few questions about the person behind the alias.
Tell us a bit about yourself.
I go by Gabriela Redd on the internet and I don't want anyone to know who is behind this alias, or at least not yet. I created this image thanks to a very important person to me. I am 27 years old and I live in Plovdiv.
How did you decide to get into writing?
Just over two years ago this idea was born and in a few days it became a reality. I have been doing poetry and creativity in general for a long time, I just didn't have the courage to show it to people until these two years ago.
What inspires you?
My inspiration lies behind the name of a woman, namely the one who supported and encouraged me in this endeavor. Poetry is not the only thing I write. I wrote a novel based on actual incidents in my life, but no one bothered to fund and publish it, a pity but a fact. It's hard to accept authors who are not put in the "normal" frame.
What difficulties do you face in your daily life?
Every day I am confronted with the denial of the "different", their rejection and swearing. It's sad that we judge by which gender you like, not what kind of person you are. You know, in my daily life I am like everyone else... I go to work, I do it with pleasure, I take care of my family and I have fun when I need it, but if my colleagues know who I really am, I am convinced that they will look at me with different eyes. In the future, I want the novel, which is in two parts, to be completely finished and for the world to be able to experience it, or at least the part of the world it is intended for.
