We give you Victor: an artist
Hе is the eighth artist selected to be part of #GenerationArt
We continue to introduce new faces via #GenerationArt. With this text, we welcome Victor, whose story is the following:
My name is Victor Antonov, 23 years old. I have worked as an artist, illustrator, costume designer, and set designer. After graduating Toy Design at the National High-School of Applied Arts, I set out to explore different parts of the world of art. I participated in the "Theater of Senses" in Sofia as a costume designer and set designer. Since then, the inspiration for illustration and set design developed to a great extent. After that, I continued my education at the National Academy of Arts, which gave me a lot of knowledge, but most of all - what kind of connection with art I should avoid
I draw a lot of inspiration from mythology and the occult culture, both of which are an endless source of my energy to keep painting. Combining my deep interest in the occult with time spent reading historical and mythological books, I began diving into projects such as the "Festival of Lights" in Berlin, where I had the honor of projecting my billboards on famous buildings, such as BerlinerDom, the Sparkasse building, the Stieglitz city council building. I continued making historical illustrations for the Gorno Oryahov Historical Museum participating in an EU project for cultural development, which was later animated and exhibited as a permanent exhibit.
Given that I work in several areas of art, my inspiration comes from different ones. I have always admired Adolf Appia for set design. Some of my favorite artists are Giger and Escher. But it is worth mentioning that I also drew a lot of inspiration from Pratchett and Lovecraft and the art movement created around their works.
In the end, I decided to become independent, pursue my dreams, and create exactly the way I wanted.
