We present to you Gabriela: Photographer

Gabriela Ilieva is 20 years old, she was born in Pleven. He studied photography at the New Bulgarian University and a second major in Journalism. She develops professionally as a photographer and at the same time teaches English to children, which brings her great satisfaction. She has participated in numerous exhibitions and was duly appreciated at prestigious photographic forums, including the exhibition "CampOUT: identity and persona", ONE Gallery - Sofia (2019). Her works have been published in the magazine "See" and in the book "When It's Outside". The Diaries of an Isolation ”by Janet 45 Publishing House (2020), participated in an exhibition in July 2020 at the Credo Bonum Gallery - Sofia. It has been approved for participation in the Canon Student Development Program 2020 International Documentary Photography Forum, with subsequent publication in the book Encourage by Visa Pour L’Image, Italy.

She was a lecturer at the Festival of Student Art, held at the New Bulgarian University with the support of the National Fund "Culture" (2020). In May this year he was a finalist in the documentary photography competition "BG Press Photo" 2021 - in the category "Social Photography", and in June he reached the finals of the competition for art photography and illustration "Hahnemühle FineArt Printing Contest". Participates in the preparation of a group exhibition, which is expected to be approved for support by the National Culture Fund. She is currently an intern in a large company and is focused on marketing, communications and media.

She shares about herself:

I live in a small town where opportunities are very limited, especially when it comes to art. I think I am a person with great potential, I am self-taught so far, but this in no way stops me from expanding my horizons when I have this opportunity.

Gabriela was part of the 5-day workshop for young artists in 2019 - CampOut.

Since November 2019 GenerationArt is part of the three-year project "Empowering young LGBTI people through access to services, motivation, and focused policy change", implemented with financial support, provided by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway under the EEA Financial Mechanism. The main objective of the project is to support and empower young LGBTI people and the professionals supporting them.
